Weekend Workshop #10

This week Helen has done a great tutorial for us, you can find it below. This tutorial will be made into a PDF file shortly and if you would like it just email me, once again if you are still waiting for any tutorials I am sorry about that, it has just been so busy, but if you give me a reminder I will make sure you get them :)
NEWS – From September 1st we will be having 2 guest Designers every 4 weeks, we have some guests sorted already but if you would like a chance to become a guest for us just email us here with a few of your favourite cards and a bit about yourself,  we look forward to seeing your gorgeous creations.
Also coming on the 1st September we are going to cater for the NEWBIES :) a lot of you have said how you don’t have many colours and can not join in, so we have taken this on board and from 1st Sept the challenges will alternate every 2 weeks so the 2nd week will be an any colour challenge, the prize for the challenges will be ProMarkers, so it will give you an ideal opportunity to fill your collection and join in more challenges, there will be a sketch/theme/recipe to guide you but the colour choice will be yours, so I hope all you newbies will join in the fun! :).

Helens Tutorial
Ok so we've covered how to create shading using a darker tone but what do you do when your main colour is the darkest tone in the set? hopefully this tutorial will help to answer this question. For this tutorial I've continued on from the previous ones using gorjuss girl 'sitting' I've used my usual smooth card from the papermill and stamped the image with memento tuxedo black ink. I've coloured the area in where i want to have the shading with warm grey 5 , (my preference for use with petrol blue) I've then gone over where i want the very darkest area again with the same warm grey 5 to build up the depth colour i wanted I then coloured over all the grey areas with the main colour(petrol blue) Then coloured a larger area with the main colour again to create the next tone And finally using the same main colour go over the whole area again to blend all areas together and heres the finished result. hope its been of help
hugs helen x
